So What's Next?

Good Evening All,

I think I've come up with a plan for a sequel.  It's not like I'm setting the world on fire with sales or anything, I just feel like writing.  I'm still working through the idea fully, but I've come up with another project in the mean time.  I'm going to write a collection of short stories about The Quad and The Slackers.  I'm going to call it "A Day in the Life: Superheroes on a Tuesday" or something like that.  It's going to lean way more on comedy than actual story telling and it will serve as a companion piece and won't further the plot at all.  I have some pretty good ideas and I'm excited to start writing.  I've got brainstorm concepts down on paper already.  I'm taking a work trip next week so I'll have some time without my TV so I hope to blast a lot of it out.
Let me know what you think.

Words Therapy

Writing for me is therapy.  Not this writing, this writing is just me spewing out crap so that I can have posts for my blog so if someone checks this out for info about my book they'll see something.  Of course, this has very little to do with the book.  By the way, it would be easier for me to put actual story related stuff on this blog once I receive feedback.  Ok, it's only been a week so that may be unreasonable, but I"m inpatient, so whatever.
I've decided on a couple of different premises for another book.  I just feel like writing so I'm just going to decide and go forward with it.  I've said that I don't want to just blog and promote without actually writing, so I'm going to keep up with that.  The problem is that all of the good ideas seem to have been taken.  I had a great idea for something and then was able to rattle off 3 other books or movies that have already done something too similar.  I have another idea that is close to some other ones, but different enough that it should be ok, but I don't have it all thought out.
Here is my question for you...do you expect every idea to be original?

An Interesting Conversation

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is really the first person that I've talked to who read the entire book without being involved in the process of me writing it.  It was a really cool conversation.  We always talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and really anything Joss related and argue about our favorite parts and what characters we like and who we don't like.  Tonight we did that too, except we were talking about a story I wrote and characters I created.  It was cool to find out how she feels about the characters and really fraking cool to hear how passionate she is about some of them.  She gave me her theories about where I am taking the story if/when I write a sequel and how she loves Powerful Dude and hates Lady Splendid.  I'm really, really happy about the talk.  I've always wanted to have that conversation with some of the authors that I read and I'm glad she got to do that.  It's a really strange feeling being the guy that wrote the story and talking to her about it like we were, but it was also totally cools!

Blog to you again soon.  In the mean time, review if you've read it!!!
