Reviews Needed
The biggest marketing tool any product on the Internet has are user reviews. If you are like me you very rarely take the time to actually read the reviews since they are usually by people who are either over the moon happy with the product or had a bad experience. Sure, the law of averages will take care of that for the most part, but that requires enough reviews for the math to work.
Books are a little different. Book reviews do get read, even by someone as lazy as me. It's not really a review of the book itself that I look for, but the people who read it. What have they read and why did they try this book out? Even though I don't do so consciously, I know that if a book has a low star rating I'm less likely to check it out. Conversely if a book has a really high rating but not a lot of reviews I just figure they are friends of the author.
So, what I am asking is that if/when you read my book you take the time to review it on Amazon and/or Goodreaads. If you are a friend of mine (and most people who have found this blog are) please be totally honest. If you liked it or didn't like it, please tell me why. Sure, I want to sell books and I need this as a marketing device, but I also want to know if I did good. Your reviews will go a long way to inspiring me to write another book or start an acoustic Carter USM cover band.
I'm begging here people. I know, it's only been like 3 weeks, but I'm a co-dependent attention whore and without reinforcement to the contrary I assume I suck and should start memorizing the freight train schedule so I can live out my hobo dream.
