Introducing Mitosis

Good Evening True Believers!
Tonight I introduce you to a character that actually was the main inspiration for this book being written.  Mitosis is the leader of The Slackers and the former leader of The Quad.  He has the ability to make multiple clones of himself and he uses them in unusual ways.  Rather than the standard creating a force to just overpower his opponent with numbers, Mitosis often uses the energy of the clones being created or recycled (rejoining him) to add to his strength and power.  He was a former Bio engineer, but it's already been said that his profession had nothing to do with his change.  Mitosis was not the cause of SOE, but he is obsessed with trying to find the reason.

During his time with The Quad, the very professional and serious Mitosis fell in love with the frivolous and powerful Lady Splendid.  Their relationship made them the IT couple in the media and the gossip magazines.  While Splendid embraced the attention, Mitosis shied away.  He made efforts to relate to her lifestyle and allowed their wedding to become the television event of all time, but soon it wore on him and he reverted back to his research.  They're lives became more and more distant from each other until the eventual divorce happened and The Quad was no more.
Lady Splendid went on to become a star of music and movies while Mitosis moved to the Pacific Northwest and joined The Slackers.  Gamer had no problem with superhero #1 taking over leadership of their group and neither did NinChick or Powerful Dude.  The Slackers thrived under his leadership, but he kept himself distant from them, perhaps afraid to make close connections ever again.
Mitosis is a key plot driver in this story.  He is a character that I really, really like and is the inspiration for most of this story.  He and Lady Splendid both came from my original story idea, but I'm so happy I instead found a way to make them the center.  The broken relationship wasn't really planned, it just came out as I was writing and has made a lot of other things in the book work.  I think that's pretty cool!
I'm almost done, people!  I'm getting excited, but I'm also having trouble bringing it to a close.  I promise I won't just write it to death because I don't know how to end it, because I have the ending, it's just the few things before that I'm having issues with.  Not writers block, just higher standards. I've deleted a lot the past few days.
Stuff the Jubilee...
