Update: 24 Days Behind Schedule

Yeah, it's 24 days behind and any actual job would fire me!  It was a self-imposed deadline and I really thought I could pull it off.  I actually didn't think the editing process would take this long.  Yeah, I also didn't think I was changing tense in the middle of paragraphs, but that's all taken care of now.  The story is now at over 42K words since the first round of edits and I have a section I am busy procrastinating about writing right now.  I also am trying to re-write the Prologue and having some issues.  I may get to my goal of a Hobbit length story after all (48K words).
While I've been annoyed at having to fix things, I really do think they are all for the better.  The worse thing was this past Sunday when I became pretty depressed with everything because I read through the entire thing and concluded it was no good at all.  I think it was just out of frustration, but it cut me hard.  I'm over that now and I do think that I've done good things.  Please don't expect Ready Player One, but it's a good story with good characters and I am always my harshest critic with anything I do.

So let's stop talking about the bad and start talking about the good.  I fraking love writing!  I love being able to tell people that I was writing and making it feel like it's my job.  I am really proud of doing this exercise no matter what happens with it.  Speaking of what is going to happen with it, I promise you will all get to read it.  My new deadline is sometime in September.  The only reason I can't be more specific is because I really want to go through another full round of edits to see if I made the improvements that they suggested.  My Editors Three really gave me great feedback and did so in a way that didn't crush me completely.  I'm indebted to them for that.
I have 2 more sections to write.  One of them I will get done tonight as I have it all mapped out in my head and just need to put it to page.  The other is the dreaded Prologue and I'm having a lot of issues with that.  I think I'm going to send out the bulk of the story out without the new Prologue and get that looked at.  I dunno...seems like a bit of a cop out, but I want to move forward.
I don't know if anyone is even paying attention anymore since I lagged at this.  Heck, I basically just bitch about the process on this site, but I don't want to really say much more about the story itself.  In fact, some things that I've mentioned before have already changed.  Anyways, thanks for reading and please be patient with me.  I'll have a story for you to enjoy shortly.  I will say this for myself, I do have some really funny moments in the book!  I personally really like the blending of comedy in with the story.  It sometimes borders on parody, but I don't think I ever cross that line.  You guys can all let me know that when you get to read it.
So Say We All...
